Instructors
Mike Perrot is the Clevedon Canoe Club chief instructor for the course. Bob Slee will be the instructor for those sessions which Mike Perrot is unable to teach. Mike & Bob will be assisted by BCU Level 1 coaches.
-
Course Format and Syllabus
Courses will run to the British Canoe Union One/Two Star Award syllabus for Kayaks to encourage youngsters to participate and achieve a good safe standard of paddling on flat water. We cannot give the children the actual awards because this is not an official BCU-registered course, but they will have the skills should they wish to take it further. We realize it is an introduction to the children and it’s all about having fun and learning safely.
-
Locations & Timings

-

What You Need To Bring
As the weather may be cold & wet, and there is always the possibility of getting wet please bring a set of spare warm clothing suitable for wearing on the water. These should include where possible the following;
- ‘T’ shirt or thermal vest
- Warm pullover, sweatshirt or fleece
- A pair of waterproof over-trousers (if you have them) or track suit bottoms
- A towel
- Old shoes/trainers to wear on the water or a pair of wet suit boots (if you have them). Bare feet are not acceptable, because of the possibility of sharp debris in the marine lake.
- Anything else you think might be useful (Drink, Mars Bar etc.)
- If you have a wet suit – wear it.
-
NOTE
We do ask if you have a mobile phone please don’t bring it paddling. It doesn’t float and doesn’t work very well after getting wet.
